Will the lawn be damaged?
Every effort is made to protect your lawn and landscaping. Our tracked stump grinder distributes its weight over a broader surface than narrow tires, which can help reduce ground disturbance. We plan the access route carefully and, when conditions warrant, may use protective measures such as plywood over delicate areas. Soft or wet ground can still show impressions from any heavy equipment, so we will discuss special access concerns before work begins.
What happens to the chips?
Standard service leaves the grindings on site and uses them to backfill the hole. Chip removal can be quoted separately when requested.
Can grass be planted afterward?
Yes, after excess wood material is removed and the area is topped with suitable soil. Fresh grindings should not be treated as finished topsoil.
Can another tree go in the same spot?
Usually it is better to plant nearby because large roots and remaining underground wood can interfere. Deeper or wider grinding can be discussed for a specific plan.

What kind of equipment do you use?
We use a professional Bandit SG40 tracked stump grinder built specifically for stump grinding. Its tracked design provides strong grinding capability while making it suitable for many residential and tight-access properties.
Can your stump grinder fit through my gate?
The Bandit SG40 can reach many fenced backyards, but the narrowest point on the entire access route matters. Send the gate width and photos of the route so access can be confirmed before scheduling.

How deep do you grind a stump?
Standard service is approximately 6–8 inches below the surrounding grade. Deeper grinding can be discussed when needed for construction, fencing, replanting, or another specific project.

Standard service includes backfilling the grinding area with the grindings and raking the immediate work area neat. Stump grinding creates a mixture of wood chips and soil, so the finished area will not look like undisturbed lawn.
Are the wood chips removed?
Standard service leaves the grindings on site. Chip haul-away requires additional labor and disposal capacity and can be quoted separately when requested.
What about underground utilities?
Public utilities should be properly marked before digging or grinding. You must also disclose private lines and systems that public locating services may not mark, including irrigation, invisible fencing, private electric lines, septic components, and well lines.
